HOSPITAL GIFTS

Get Well Gift Baskets and Hampers are always a great idea to send to hospitals. Chocolate gift baskets, spa gift baskets, gourmet gift baskets, fresh fruit baskets or teddy bear gifts are thoughtful gifts designed to comfort and brighten someone's day when most needed.

With more and more hospitals refusing flowers in the wards, gifts for hospital patients in the form of boxed gifts are now the best options available to send your good wishes to family members, friends or colleagues when you cannot be there in person.

When buying for a patient in hospitals, there are a few things to take into consideration before sending a gift there.

- Is the recipient going to stay at the hospital more than a day?

Except for a few of them, most hospitals are serviced only once a day by courier drivers so if you are not sure if the recipient is going to stay longer than two days it might be a better idea to send the gift to a home address. This is especially important for maternity patient who rarely spend more than one day at the hospital if both mum and baby are doing well.

- Is the day you are placing your order a Friday?

Except for hospitals based on the Gold Coast; The Gold Coast University Hospital, The Gold Coast Private Hospital, Robina Hospital, Pindara Private Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital where you can choose our Saturday Delivery option; Deliveries to other hospitals will not take place until the following week as there are no courier services available over the weekend. The same applies for public holidays.

- Is the gift going to be delivered to the patient's room?

Unless hand delivered, most hospitals require that deliveries are made to reception, loading dock, mail room or nurses station meaning that while the gift may be delivered to the hospital at a certain time, it may ultimately be another few hours before hospital staff deliver it to your recipient.

To facilitate the delivery and avoid delays, remember to include as many details as possible about the patient; Their full name, the ward details, a mobile number is also helpful.
